TITLE: “UNSEEN…UNHEARD…UNSPOKEN”

Iran, Turkey and India; three different countries, three different cultures – yet united by art. Three artists Zahra Fuladvand (Iran), Volkan Mengi (Turkey) and Pallavi Majumder (India) apart from just being classmates in the doctoral school at the MKE (Hungarian University of Fine Arts), developed a special bond with their language of art and similarity of thoughts.  more

In their first group project, the three artists aim to reflect the latent realities which are not so visible but
cannot be also neglected.

In Zahra Fuladvand’s performance, she tries to reflect how she perceives life as nothing but a continuous dance of birth and death. A dance of change which she perceives to depict in the show by modifying the funeral ceremony in Iranian tradition. she keeps asking herself: Why I was born? Why do I live another day? Where do I come from and where am I going? Where is my childhood? What is the difference between darkness after my death and before I was born?” Through her performance she throws these questions at the viewers and seeks to create certain
visuals where the viewers are encouraged to witness the reality of existence that she sets up.

Volkan Mengi as a visual artist, will have a different approach to music visualization to get visually accurate and rich results. Music visualization is an area where mostly musicians investigate. This usually causes the outcome to be visually weak. He is aiming to find a connection between musical elements such as harmony, texture, dynamics or form of music and the attributes of a 3D animation software.

Pallavi Majumder’s artworks on the other hand questions the viewers - Can we define all the emotions that we have? Are we often successful in assessing our own emotional states? Can all emotions be described by words? ... Is it necessary to understand words or languages to feel the emotions? If our emotions are abstract nouns then how do we define them with certain known elements, and familiar forms? …Have we ever seen them? Pallavi’s works bring forth these obscure questions to the viewers. Through a series of drawings and sound installations
merged with the interplay of projections and moving images, Pallavi expects the viewers to experience a multilayered experience that might instigate them to dive deep within their inner unexcavated spaces.

The exhibition, “UNSEEN…UNHEARD…UNSPOKEN” thus directs to concentrate on the feelingful expressive power of the three individual artists in creating a dialogue with the viewers focusing on their emotional responsiveness with the artworks.

Our offer

Two bodies meet at one point. This point is now common. Two bodies, two people meet at this common point. They are touched. Being touched is like getting into something exceptionally sensitive, intimate, deep. In this moment, something really important, something essential happens. Something inside moves and changes.
